At Innovative Marketing Solutions, a custom 5-page website starts at $799. Most small-business website projects I build land between $1,500 and $2,500 once the site needs more content, more custom sections, stronger conversion paths, additional forms, portfolio work, or deeper SEO setup.
E-commerce, custom CRM systems, web applications, and large service-area hubs are separate because they add a different level of development and testing.
The important part is knowing what you are paying for. A website should not be priced by page count alone. The design, code, search structure, content, mobile experience, and long-term ownership all matter.
What Does the $799 Starting Price Cover?
The $799 starting point is for a straightforward custom 5-page small-business website. A typical five-page structure might include Home, About, Services, Portfolio or Gallery, and Contact.
I do not start those projects by dropping your logo into a stock template and changing a few colors. The goal is to design a site around your business, your customers, and what you need visitors to do next.
If you need a clean professional site with a focused scope, the $799 starting package gives you a practical entry point. Once the project needs more pages, custom content sections, advanced forms, location architecture, e-commerce, or business software, the price increases with the work involved.
You can see examples of the type of work IMS builds in the IMS Portfolio and on the Website Design page.
Why Most IMS Website Projects Land Between $1,500 and $2,500
Most businesses need more than five simple pages. A contractor may need separate service pages. A technical company may need industry pages, case studies, project galleries, or detailed service explanations. A professional firm may need a stronger lead form and clearer content for several types of customers.
That is why the $1,500 to $2,500 range is more common for a complete small-business website.
A project in that range can involve work such as:
- Additional service or landing pages.
- Custom page sections designed around the business instead of a prebuilt layout.
- Content cleanup and page structure.
- Project galleries, case studies, or portfolio sections.
- Custom contact or inquiry forms.
- Mobile layout work across multiple screen sizes.
- Technical SEO setup and internal linking.
- Image preparation and performance work.
- Conversion paths that make it easier for visitors to call, request a quote, or contact the business.
The final quote depends on the scope. I would rather define that before development starts than advertise one flat number and add surprise charges later.
IMS Websites Are Custom Coded First
My preferred workflow starts with the website itself, not a page builder.
IMS websites can be designed and developed with HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript. That gives me control over the layout, responsive behavior, page structure, code, and search setup.
If a client wants WordPress for easier content management, the finished design can be turned into a custom WordPress theme. The design still comes first. WordPress becomes the content-management system instead of dictating how the site has to look.
This approach works well for businesses that want something more specific than an off-the-shelf theme. It also gives us room to build the site around real services, real locations, and the way customers move through the business.
If your current site is holding you back, the Website Redesign page explains how IMS approaches rebuilds and redesign work.
SEO Is Built Into the Website From the Start
I do not treat SEO as a plugin that gets installed after the design is finished.
Search structure starts while the site is being planned and coded. That can include descriptive page titles, clean heading structure, crawlable internal links, useful body copy, canonical URLs, mobile layouts, image handling, structured data where it fits, and a clear relationship between service pages.
The goal is to give Google, Bing, and AI-powered search systems clear information about what the business does and which page best answers a search.
Google states that the same SEO fundamentals used for normal Search also apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode. There is no special AI-only schema that guarantees inclusion. Pages still need to be indexable, useful, and easy for search systems to understand.
That is why IMS focuses on normal technical SEO first, then adds clear content, internal linking, business information, and structured data where it makes sense.
You can read more about the approach on the IMS SEO page.
What Costs Extra?
Some website features need their own scope because they involve more development than a standard marketing site.
E-Commerce
An online store adds products, categories, checkout, payment processing, customer emails, shipping or pickup rules, tax settings, and store management. A small store and a large catalog are different projects, so I price e-commerce separately.
See the E-Commerce service page for more information.
Custom CRM and Business Software
A custom CRM is software development, not a website add-on. It can involve customer records, lead tracking, user roles, workflows, dashboards, scheduling, documents, automation, reporting, and outside integrations.
Those projects need discovery, database planning, development, testing, and a defined deployment process. They are quoted separately from the public website.
See Custom CRM & Business Software.
Service Area Hubs
A service-area hub can be valuable for a company that serves many cities or counties, but it needs real structure. I do not recommend publishing dozens of nearly identical location pages.
A proper hub needs useful county and city pages, clean internal linking, relevant services, unique local information where available, and a clear route back to the main service pages.
See Service Area Hub Development and the live IMS Service Areas structure.
What About Hosting?
For IMS website projects, I recommend GoDaddy hosting.
For a code-first website, I generally prefer GoDaddy Web Hosting with cPanel. It gives direct access to the website files, databases, PHP settings, backups, and other hosting controls.
For a site that is being delivered as a custom WordPress theme, GoDaddy Managed WordPress can be a better fit when the client wants a WordPress-focused hosting environment.
The choice depends on how the finished site will be managed. I prefer to make that decision around the project instead of forcing every client into the same setup.
What Should You Ask Before Hiring a Website Designer?
Price matters, but a cheap quote can become expensive if the site has to be rebuilt a year later.
Before you hire someone, ask specific questions:
- Will the site be custom designed or built from a stock template?
- What pages and features are included in the quote?
- Who owns the domain, hosting account, website files, and content?
- Is mobile design included?
- Is technical SEO part of the build?
- Will the site have unique page titles and descriptions?
- Can search engines crawl the important content?
- Can the site grow later without starting over?
- What happens when you need a new page or feature?
Those questions tell you more than a list of design buzzwords.
How I Would Budget for a Tampa Small-Business Website
If you need a simple professional five-page site, start with a budget of at least $799.
If you want a more complete custom website with stronger content, more pages, portfolio work, better lead paths, and deeper SEO structure, plan on roughly $1,500 to $2,500 for the type of project IMS handles most often.
If you need e-commerce, a custom CRM, a web application, or a large local service-area system, treat that as additional scope. Those features should be priced around the work involved instead of squeezed into a basic website package.
